Barack Obama of Illinois to run for president!

Well, it's about time we had a minority candidate run for presidency. Senator Barack Obama launched a presidential campaign on Tuesday, which would make him the first African American, if elected, to be president and occupy the White House.

I think the United States definitely needs someone new to take things into his/her hands and bring people's spirits back up. The war in Iraq is something so many people are against. With Bush having the lowest ratings in the history of the presidency, it's definitely a good thing for people to begin directing their attention to the new faces who might be leading our country a couple of years from now.

He's only spend a little more than 2 years in the Senate, which may work against him since his experience is less than others [for example, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton who as of yet has not announced her decision to run for presidency].

Speaking of which, it should be quite interesting if Hillary Clinton launches a bid as well.

Senator Barack Obama, the first African-American president, or Senator Hillary Clinton, the first woman president? That should be an interesting debate, to say the least...

hey! i cannot wait for that to happen. At this point, the american people have started realizing.. wow we elected a complete moron. BUT! I think it would be an incredible step forward in our "democracy" to have the first minority president (ya, women are considered minority too now.. go figure, we pop the babies.. but hey we are the minority)....
